#foldabots10: Folda-Fan Spotlight: Vince V. Vios

#foldabots #foldabots10 #TheFoldabotsBlog

This month's Lutabot is another unique character, in the form of Kadena... Reon. Just kidding, I'm not talking about some sexy lady, I'm talking about the fourth Aninobot Kadena, and the first bike based Lutabot. What's also so good about it is the unique patrol bike with the box like thing on the back. I'm assuming a lot of us Folda-Fans will be making a delivery bike from this tack, only without the elements of the HTP. As with his bio, you can use his handle bar as a shield, but it's probably impossible with the actual toy. There could also be a back story with Patrol and this guy in the future parts of the story.

Now on to this month's Folda-Fan Spotlight...

Vince V. Vios had a lot of contributions in the Foldabots Fanverse, including some of his works becoming part of the official canon. I couldn't recall which ones were, but today, we'll be taking a look on one of his gestalts. The patterns featured on this blog are re-uploaded by JamesHarrold007 at DeviantArt, though it's made by Vios himself.

The Nocturnicons, are a bit like the Zoobots except they're based on night creatures. Another great thing about it is it has seven members with two of them without robot modes. The seven members are, Wombatron, Bilbynator, Rekunillo, Foxillion, Slothera, Tarsius, and Bayakan.

The first pattern before you is aptly called 'Agimat' Weapons, even though they're not considered as one. I personally call this as their special weapons, though not made from their Agimats, despite the designs. Also in the pattern sheet is Tarsius forming Nocturnalion's head which is the advantage of this design. I know, I tried it once before.
Since when's the last time we had a two in one pattern? The last official two in one pattern I strongly recalled is the Tentaclones, and later issues include just one unit partly because later designs becomes more and more detailed than the last ones. Foxillion and Bayakan here are just an example of a two units in one pattern. Foxillion forms as the left arm, while Bayakan's the wing parts.
One thing I found about Slothera is unlike the rest of the team, she somehow has two separate main body parts before assembly. Maybe the reason why she has this distinct design is because sloths normally bend their waists while they hang on to the branches of a tree. Slothera forms the other arm of the gestalt.
Bilbynator, one of weirdest names I've ever heard for a Foldabot. Don't get me wrong, this guy's quite awesome, despite being based somewhat on a wolf. He forms the left leg of Nocturnalion.
In contrast to the weird named Foldabot before this guy, Rekunillo has a rather great name than any of the members and the gestalt. He's probably based on The Coon! No not that one, I'm talking about Rocket Raccoon! Wrong! It's just a raccoon, OK? Why am I coming up with puns at this point? Anyway, Rekunillo forms the right leg, and we all know who then forms the central torso of Nocturnalion.
Combantrin. Really, it's Wombatron, not even Combatron, you fool. Understandably, Wombatron inherits the same tack as Gadya when he was released last year. Whereas Gadya was an elephant, Wombatron is, you guessed it, a wombat. He also has the same detachable head as with the previous two before him. Also you'll notice, all of the members apart from Tarsius and Bayakan, has the capability of holding their weapons, only Wombatron and Nocturnalion takes a different tack.
I've also watched the video review on YouTube, even though the lighting was so dim, it's at least we get a decent view on these guys. Maybe someday I'll review these guys myself...

Next month is the biggest Foldabots event yet! I'm talking about the 10th anniversary issue which will probably cover the fifth Aninobot which we're all excited for. And the only thing I'm hoping for is a commemorative Foldabots logo next month. And as always, this has been The Foldabots Blog, we'll see you next time!
