The Missing Instructions: Mikrokosmos

Have you checked out your copy of Foldabots Toy Book Vol.4? Have you seen the new and improved Mikrokosmos in it? Have you noticed something familiar? If not sure, you must be reading the same instructions from the original version.

The fact they used the old instructions than make a new one is a bit confusing to some fans. Here in this blog I'll give you step-by-step guide by building the Mikrobots including the Ultimate Agimat Force weapons.

SAPOTRON

Here we focus the spider Foldabot, Sapotron. In the original version, his arms are glued onto the body. Badly, I lost the hair parts of the original Sapotron. The newer version doesn't need gluing the arms anymore. In fact, the eight spider legs are combined into two separate parts, one set of four legs for the right side, and another set for the left. These legs can be slitted onto the two slots, one on either side. The rest is the same as the old one. The Agimat Nunchuck, or Jumping Rope, or Whip, or however you call it, has instructions in the book on how it's made.

ALITA

Next up, is the firefly Foldabot, Alita. Originally, both Sapotron and Alita have slimmer bodies and Sapotron has an extra part for Mikrokosmos' left foot found in Alita's pattern. Also, Alita was the first to use tracing paper as the inner wings in the original pattern. In the new pattern, there is two inner wing parts ready-made. Her Agimat Sword isn't really a sword at all, but instead I call it a Stick or a Rod.

PATIBONG

We move on with the mantis Foldabot, Patibong. Like the others, Patibong was smaller than the new version. The head used to be detachable and it can make a crane arm with Sapotron's claw as a bonus weapon. The mantis head should be glued in yet making an articulated neck. Patibong's Agimat Pick or in the book, a Scythe is the same weapon of Higadrone.

HIGADRONE

Now, let's look on the centipede Foldabot, Higadrone. His centipede head was detachable and it can be turned around for Mikrokosmos' arm. In the new version, it's now glued on the body, but you still have a lot of needle hair to glue. In the pattern, there are approximately 60 needle hairs, and there are only 12 gluing spots for the hair to go in. Which means, only 12 will be glued, 24 if you glue two needle hairs back to back. The remaining 36 can be glued together to make 18 darts but it's easy to lose them, unless you store them in a safe container for small bits and pieces like Sigwa's wing bombs, Trosotron's muffler guns, etc. Like Patibong, he wields an Agimat Scythe. The reason I preferred to call Patibong's scythe a pick is it can be held on either way. A bonus part found just above Higadrone's main body part, is the missing sleeve for Alita's stick for her to hold it. To make this part, glue this sleeve part to itself, then glue it to lower part of the stick.

ALAKDAN

Finally we focus on the scorpion Foldabot leader, Alakdan. His arms was truly different in the original design because of the feature of inserting Patibong and Higadrone's insect tails onto the rectangle loops on Alakdan's shoulders. In addition, the body was more complex than the new one. The new version has a simplified main body, wider arms, and a bigger scorpion tail. His Agimat Axe is often mistaken for a hammer because of how it's designed, and since it's flat, there's no way you can call it a hammer.

MIKROKOSMOS

Alright, Mikrokosmos has an updated instructions in the Toy Book, but in the original, there was none but a snapshot and an old illustration in the other page where you got Alakdan. This is where you'll get an idea of how it's made. Recap, this guy uses the Ultimate Agimat Bow and Arrow combined from all the individual weapons.
