Every Summer, me, my mom, and little sister travels to Singapore not as tourists, but as 'Permanent Residents'. We've been visiting the country for quite awhile now, just to meet up with the other half of the family who work so hard for us here in the Philippines. Now, on this blog, I decided to bring in two combiners based on a Double Decker bus and the MRT train there.
XMRT
Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit is not like what we have here. The trains are spacier, bigger, and there are more stations than here at home which covers to almost the whole map of Singapore. They also have LRTs but monorails. Here I got the idea of making a Foldabot combiner out of this.
Basically, I made these two before but their designs were inferior at that time. I decided to remake these combiners to make them less complex yet more playable.
Here below are the 7 pattern cards for XMRT. The instructions are also on the patterns for your convinience and there is also additional guides for forming either the combined train or robot modes.
Since I am covering two combiners in this blog, let's move on to the other one...
DECKRON
Buses in Singapore are also not like ours which are owned by countless companies who even get a lot of accidents. They only have two bus companies there, and if you want to go somewhere, go by the number. It's not really complicated, you know. What's also great about going there is you can take a trip on a Double Decker Bus just like in the UK. It also inspired me to make another combiner based on this transport vehicle.
Below are the four pattern cards plus one more for the instructions to make DECKRON.
On the instructions, I also mentioned another character--BUSNAKE. But I'll be making that guy some other time.
Now, I'll be closing this blog for now but I'll be back with more real soon.

SALAMANGKRUS and Company
Here's a little story of how I made this guy...
After Toy Book 6 was launched, I was disappointed of how my creation never won the On-The-Spot Art Contest. It also inspired me to make something better than a 'Playboy Bunny' Foldabot (Actually, there was a reason for this, and I don't know how and why I made her).
Along came a magic...
The first thing popped up in my mind was a fierce chimera, and I thought "Wow, I could make something out this!" And so, SALAMANGKRUS was made. I also drew an illustration of him but I'll go post him next time as soon as I have the files. The idea was a Lutabot Sorcerer casting chaotic spells far more than imagined. With that, I decided to make his pattern as well.
And since he has three patterns, which means he's really big. I also added some rune letters on his hat saying the words 'LUTABOT'.
And since I'm doing a lot of posts in one day, I decided to throw in some of my other works...
Next up are the patterns I made using the new layout...
And of course, the first combiner I made using space vehicles. It is also considered as a crossover of multiple anime and one live action show.
KALAWAKRON
The units like I said are vehicles used in space, but their Foldabot forms are very obvious. If you know the characters I based them on, please comment their names and the series they came from. Here are the patterns for the combiner.
Still no idea? Their codes give you a hint of their names!
Now, on the next blog, I'll be taking you all on a trip to Singapore with my Foldabots XMRT and DECKRON!

TABLETINA is based on a 7 inch Android Tablet which I ruined recently and note I made these two long before I revamped the layout. I also based this character on Ranka Lee of Macross Frontier. |
Basically PADRONE is a retool of Foldabot above and she's based on the Vocaloid Hatsune Miku and the iPad (My cousin has one.) |
Next up are the patterns I made using the new layout...
BAHA is one of the first Foldabots I made using the new layout. |
If there's one Foldabot I totally like, and it's this guy. |
I drew his illustration back in May 2013. |
A Facebook friend of mine wanted to make a Foldabot pattern from me. Thank goodness he also tried it for himself. |

PAYASOTRON vs. BOLTAHEDRON
Update as of 11 June 2015: I fixed the title of this blog because I found a slight error where it says "BOLTAHDERON" than "BOLTAHEDRON".
BAD NEWS BEFORE I BEGAN
Technically it was supposed to be posted yesterday to celebrate the 28th anniversary of the first People Power Revolution properly, badly my mom didn't want me to use her laptop to post this blog at that night. It was kinda sad yet she wanted me to use it on the day after. So what, another POST CELEBRATION?! No way, I won't count this as one, as long as I make this blog.
During
the times I’m not active in Facebook, I had the opportunity to make some new
Foldabots. I’ve already posted the names of the characters which I will upload
real soon on my Facebook page EIF’s Foldabots Factory.
Like
this page
Now,
on this blog, I will cover the first two combiners I’ve planned for 2014, these
are Payasotron and Boltahedron.
THE
PAYASOBOTS
To
start, I’ll describe these goofy yet awesome Foldabots, the PAYASOBOTS.
Back
Story
SALAMANGKRUS
has cast a spell upon Neo-Republika to make every people miserable in such way.
By chance, five Foldabot clowns arrived from out of nowhere, bringing joy and
laughter to the citizens. SALAMANGKRUS wasn’t happy about it, and so does
LU-SHO. Little did they know that a group of Lutabots called BOLTABOTS were
after them, this is where SALAMANGKRUS showed a grin after those guys showed
up.
Who
do you think will win in this battle?
Below
are the patterns for the Payasobots and combiner parts for Payasotron.
The
first four is made with the same body size and yes, homage to Transformers G1
Scramble City Combiners. Why? The four can form any of the limbs, and the hands
and feet come in separately for you to place it in any of them.
The
reason why their names are almost the same is because I was too lazy to come up
with good names to fit the clown theme.
THE
BOLTABOTS
Next,
we look at the appliance Lutabot combiner BOLTAHEDRON.
Back
Story
It’s
been said that the BOLTABOTS’ were used to be broken home appliances brought to
Mang Jose’s Junkshop. Unexpectedly, these were already affected by the LUTANT
energy stuck into them, causing to become Lutabots and soon began making chaos.
Having different purposes, these BOLTABOTS soon created their own army by using
Electromagnetic shocks to any electrical devices they touch. After stopping
SALAMANGKRUS, LU-SHO asked them to find and destroy the PAYASOBOTS. And so, the
battle begins…
The
following are the patterns for the Boltabots.
The
gimmick of these Lutabots, are different from the other ones, and they also
have opening doors like in real appliances. They aren’t the only ones that are
based on such, Radyotron and Joe KV were one of my early creations and they
were the first Foldabot and Lutabot based on a radio and a Videoke machine.
Well,
that’s all for now, and yeah, haven’t I mentioned Salamangkrus? I’ll be doing a
blog about him next time, and of course more of my new creations coming your
way real soon!

Valentine's Day Blog: CELTRON 2.0 vs. LOBATICA
It’s
(only a few days ‘til) Valentine’s Day and I decided to write another post. Now,
remember CELTRON, my Foldabot Combiner made of cell phones? I decided to give
them a big makeover due to the fact that the old version has a bit of failures
in it.
MEET
CELTRON 2.0
Harder,
Better, Faster, Stronger. This is what I mean about recreating one of my old
combiners again. The one thing I hated about the old version is you’ll have to
compress some parts to fit them and the parts seemed to be complicated. These
problems were solved. First, the new patterns are now in a new design,
basically, the name of the Foldabot is on the upper-right corner with the
corresponding color primarily used in the design. It can either be in black or
white lettering. Instructions are on the other side providing step-by-step
guides in building your 2-in-1 toy. Alt mode, combiner guide, and specs are
just below the name. The size of the pattern area is virtually almost the same
size as with those come in K-Zone. It’s precisely 8 ½ by 5 ½ inches. There are
also some Foldabots I designed recently having a bigger pattern like VEYROTICAL
by Nai TaƱon Manalus, not his real name, and BASAANATOR by yours truly.
Here
below are the new patterns…
Alterations
Alteration
wise (Homage to Ranger Review), the design is more improved, they seemed to be
a lot bigger in length from front to back, and the proportions are a lot better
than before. BUKA and DULAS lost a bit of height, and the phone gimmick is more
refined. I also simplified DULAS’ top panel to a single piece. The colors on
PINDOT’S phone mode were altered a bit just to say that it would come out white
when combined into CELTRON. TURO is now thick enough to fit the heads of the
two who will form the legs. I also dropped the top-bottom swapping gimmick and
decided to split out only when combining. What’s also nice is I also dropped
ANLI’S leg slits as well.
HERE
COMES LOBATICA!
Oh,
did I just mention LOBATICA? Yes, I did. Since it’s going to be a long blog
post, I decided to throw in CELTRON’S rival as well.
LOBATICA
comes from the term ‘Low Batt’. It is used usually with older generation of
cellular phones where there is not much space to fit more than 12 symbols per
row. Some of the models use 1 to 2 rows depending on the spec. The screens are
commonly black and white with usually yellowish green backlight (like those in
the very first Game Boy).
Below
are the patterns for each LOBATICON.
TEXTARA’S
phone mode is a Nokia 6110. Note I designed it too roughly to imitate the
actual design.
MS.
CALL’S phone mode is a Nokia 5110. The colors I used are not the actual colors
used in these phones. Sir Jomike, if you insist on making them official in the
future, I suggest you use the original colors of the phones I used for the
combiner.
REPLYA
is a Motorola MicroTAC 9800x.
LOADBAK
is an Ericsson GA628.
And
lastly, RINGTONA is modeled after the ever-popular Nokia 3310.
Basically,
the colors of these Lutabots are almost the inverse of the colors I used for
the CELBOTS.
Anyway,
that wraps up my blog for now, and be sure to check out The Foldabots Blog
every now and then because I’ll be throwing in a new blog sooner than you
think!
And since it is VALENTINE'S DAY, I'll be posting something that can shock you or make you laugh!
Although fictional, but I just made it for fun. (The picture after the one below is not for the weak of heart.)
Souvenir Picture from Toy Book 6 Launch last November... |
This is also where I got the idea of making a love team in my fan fiction "Foldabots MegaMix."
Now, Sergio Iyoso is a guy in purple half-frame glasses and a wicked hairstyle. Well, there is a bit of resemblance of me and that's my protagonist persona. Cynthia Tetico, is well, based on the girl you see in the picture above. Her name is basically the pun of her name (I don't want to say it but you'll get the idea) and if you haven't seen her, you can find that picture on my older blog below...
Their love story is almost true to life actually, but I decided to not make it really accurate to what really happened in reality. Their friends also resemble TV personalities who I also liked.
Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day, and I'll be back soon with another blog!
